At Auspoint Medical Cosmetic Clinic (AMCC) we use Limelight to address sun damage and pigmentation, and to rejuvenate the skin. |
How Limelight Works |
Intense Pulse Light (IPL) |
Limelight’s handpiece emits specific wavelengths of light that are absorbed by skin pigments, which are degraded, thus restoring a more even tone. |

Pre-treatment |
- Do not wear makeup on the day of the treatment.
- Avoid waxing and other treatments that irritate the skin for 2 weeks prior.
Treatment |
The Limelight handpiece delivers pulses of light into the skin, which will result in a mild pinching sensation and some warmth. Usually a cooling gel is applied to the skin to alleviate any mild discomfort. |
Post Treatment |
- Redness typically appears and resolves over 1-2 days.
- Avoid heat for 1-2 days.
- Avoid skin products with irritant ingredients for a few days.
- Targeted pigments will darken over the next couple of days, which means the treatment is working as intended. This will resolve after about 1 week.
- As pigmentation and sun damage can reappear we strongly recommend the regular application of sunscreen.
